It was a hot one this summer, but it got even hotter with IndieWorks' 2019 Summer Cabaret Series! We gave audiences three months of varied musical entertainment from shows that spotlight incredible new songwriters to nights of dance hits and dirty ditties! There was something for everyone!

KIT GOLDSTEIN GRANT & FRIENDS!

It's a one-night-only concert featuring the catchy music and clever lyrics of award-winning songwriter, Kit Goldstein Grant! Come and hear some of the hits and some of the lesser-known songs from Kit's canon along with songs written with collaborators Caleb Damschroder, Jonathon Lynch, Sophie Oberfield, and Gil Varod including pieces from The Commuters, Time Travel Makes Complete Sense, and In The Horse! It's a night of new (and not-so-new) music and lyrics you won't want to miss!

Join some of New York's best character actors as they fashion your favorite songs by Alan Menken, Cole Porter, David Yazbeck, Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim, and more into bawdy, brassy, and bold burlesque-style numbers! So come on out, grab a drink, and cool down while you can, because it's about to get hot in The Duplex with IndieWorks Theatre Company's Dirty Little Ditties!

That's where you come in! Write down any musical theatre song titles, throw them into the hat, and see what gets pulled out. Whatever they pull out, they have to sing! Follow four friends on a search for love -- and happiness -- in crowded bars, on subway platforms, during "Hallmark" holidays, and through the ever-stressful audition seasons, navigating their ways through life as by way of musical numbers featuring a delightful mix of sincerity and snark, hilarity and heartbreak -- sometimes in a single song! Grab a cosmo and grab a front row seat to Saxe and the City, the Music & Lyrics of Peter Saxe!
